Giovanni Michelotti
In the 1950s Giovanni Michelotti came to Carrozzeria Vignale and worked on many designs, whilst still working on his own, notably with Standard and Triumph. His earliest work with Standard-Triumph was the facelift of the Standard Vanguard PhaseIII into the 'Vanguard Vignale'. Michelotti created the Triumph Herald and went on to do the larger Triumph 2000, the TR4, Spitfire and the 1300/Dolomite/Toledo cars. The Triumph Stag resulted from a car that Michelotti designed for his own use. DAF, Volvo, Maserati, Reliant and even Scammell trucks wore designs by Michelotti
