Triumph TR4 and TR4A IRS
Project "Zest" took chassis and drivetrain of the previous TR2 and TR3 sports cars, and gave them a modern Giovanni Michelotti styled body which was launched as the TR4 in 1961. Michelotti had already designed a body for the Italia 2000 GT which was built on Triumph TR3 and TR3A mechanics, and this acted as the 'prototype' for what would be launched as the TR4. The new Michelotti body gave the TR4 wind-up windows, proper doors, a good boot. There was also this "Surrey" hardtop with removable roof panel. A 2138cc engine powered the TR4 and the later TR4A with Independent Rear Suspension.
