Vanden-Plas by Austin
With sales of the large Austin A135 Princess slowing, Leonard Lord sent a batch of 500 Austin A105 Westminster cars to the Vanden Plas works at Kingsbury for retrimming. His luxurious A105 Westminster was a success and was followed up by the Vanden Plas versions of the later Austin A110 Westminster and the smaller Austin 1100-based Princess. The 'Vanden-Plas' name clung on even after the British Motor Corporation had succumbed to British Leyland. The badge found itself on Austins, Jaguars and Rovers until the Austin Rover went to China.
