Austin A105 Vanden-Plas
BMC Chairman Sir Leonard Lord had the Vanden-Plas works convert an Austin A105 Westminster for his use. Lord liked the luxury Austin and 500 more were built in 1958, thereby starting the Vanden-Plas branding for Austin. Apart from the walnut dashboard and leather trim, the car was a standard Austin A105 Westminster with 2912cc 102bhp six cylinder C-series engine. This luxurious Westminster was a success and was followed up by the Vanden Plas versions of the later Austin A100 Westminster and the smaller Austin 1100-based Princess.
