Ferrari 348 TB, TS; 348 GTB, GTS
The Ferrari 348 GTB evolved from the Ferrari 308 and was produced from 1989 to 1995. Using an enlarged version of the Ferrari 288 GTO engine, now at 3405cc 4-valve, but no longer mounted transversely. In 1989 the 348 evolved further into the Ferrari 355 which was given a 3.5litre version of the engine and 5 valves per cylinder. Body design was under the supervision of Leonardo Fiorovanti at Pininfarina, and the car dispensed with the usual steel tube chassis and became a monocoque. Looking like a smaller Testarossa, the 348 borrowed the rear-mounted radiators from the Testarossa, and used the same side ducts covered with strakes.
