Designer: Ercole Spada
Zagato took on Ercole Spada straight from his military service in 1960, and by the end of that year he had already created the extraordinary Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato. In the same year, Spada took the Giulietta Sprint Zagato designed by Franco Scaglione and gave it a more aerodynamic rear featuring a Kamm tail. This was to set the style for his work and he followed this up with the Alfa Romeo TZ and later the Alfa Romeo Junior Z. In 1970 Spada left Zagato for a spell with Ford and then in 1976 joined BMW where he created the 1989 5-series (E34) and the 1987 7-series (E32). Returning to Italy Spada designed for Fiat and Lancia.
