Morris Twelve, Series II and Series III
The Morris Twelve (or 12/4) Series II was introduced in 1935, effectively replacing the Cowley-based 12. A new chassis borrowed ideas from the Hudson Terraplane and was a move towards monocoque construction, and this chassis along with the body was shared by the Morris Ten-Four Series II. A 1548cc sv 4-cylinder engine powered the Twelve (a 1292cc engine was given to the Ten-Four). In 1938 a new Series III Morris Twelve was introduced with a new body and an ohv version of the 1548cc engine. Production of the Twelve did not restart after World War Two.
