Maserati Bora
Launched in 1971, the Bora was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro for Ital Design (he had previously designed the Maserati Ghibli whilst at Ghia). 'Bora' is a hot desert wind, and 570 were made between 1971 and 1979. the Bora had a 4.7 dohc V8 310bhp engine, and from 1976 to 1978 a 4930cc 320bhp engine was fitted. Following the market retraction after the 6-day War, Citroen brought a lower-priced model out as the Merak' with the Citroen-Maserati V6 engine in place of the V8.
