Lancia Gamma
Pininfarina's fastback saloon (not a hatchback) was launched at the Geneva Salon in 1974. A Flat Four 2484cc engine drove the front wheels. This engine was unique in the Fiat line up, and one of the more sporting V6 engines might have been better and given the car more status. The Lancia Gamma Coupe launched at the Geneva Salon in 1979. Pininfarina designed both the Gamma Berlina and the Gamma Coupe, but it was Aldo Brovarone who did the coupe. Unfortunately the mechanics of the Coupe were no better than those of the Berlina that shared them, and the lovely Coupe was a flawed product and a slow seller.
