Stoneleigh Cars
'Stoneleigh' was a sub-brand of Siddeley-Deasy (later 'Armstrong-Siddeley') and was launched in 1912 for the sales of commercial vehicles. The first Stoneleigh vehicles were in fact re-badged BSA 13.9hp cars with a new radiator. During the First World War 100 of these Stoneleigh trucks went to Russia. In 1921 Armstrong-Siddeley saw the need to manufacture a light car and gave the name 'Stoneleigh' to this new product launched in 1921. This light car had a 1,010cc vee-twin engine which seems to have derived from a Hotchkiss design (a similiar engine was produced with differences by B.S.A. for its own 3-wheeler cars). Stoneleigh cars did not sell, and Armstrong-Siddeley had ended this brand by 1924.

Stoneleigh 9hp 1923. In 1921 Siddeley developed a new vee-twin engine of 1,010cc which seemed to borrow features from Hotchkiss and overhead valve gear from BSA

Stoneleigh 9hp 1923. 'Stoneleigh' was a sub-brand of Siddeley-Deasy (later 'Armstrong-Siddeley') and was launched in 1912 for the sales of commercials and economical cars. This 1923 Stoneleigh has a 998cc v-twin air-colled engine of about 9hp. The owner of this car said it had no differential and could not take tight corners.

Stoneleigh 9hp 1923. The original Stoneleigh had a 'Chummy' body with a central drive and passengers sat behind and either side, but sales models had more conventional seating. A few saloon bodies were built.

Stoneleigh 9hp 1923. The Stoneleigh was intended to be a very cheap light car, but Armstrong-Siddeley could not match the price of the new Austin Seven, and the Stoneleigh bodies were very basic compared to Austins
