Vanden Plas Coachbuilt
The Austin Sheerline and Vanden-Plas Princess were supplied as chassis cabs as well as fully built limousines. Although Hearses and other limousines were the most common coachbuilt bodies, quite a few Ambulances and other vehicles were also built.

Austin Sheerline 1956 Lomas Ambulance. The Austin Sheerline and Princess could be supplied as a chassis cab for the fitting of bespoke coachwork. Although Limousines and Hearses were often built on this chassis, a number of Ambulance bodies were built.

Austin Sheerline 1956 Lomas Ambulance. Although it seems extravagant these days to have a 'luxury' vehicle as an Ambulance, the modern Sprinter/Transit/Vivaro Ambulances are probably even more expensive today.
