Triumph Dolomite 1936-40
The Triumph Dolomites used Triumph's new overhead valve engine in 4 or 6-cylinder format, which was also being used by the Triumph Gloria models. The smallest was the 4-cylinder 13.95hp 1767cc 14/60 and 14/65 Dolomites in saloon, sports saloon, roadster and drophead coupe. There was a smaller Dolomite 1½litre for 1937/8 with 1496cc engine, although later '1½litres' used the larger 1767cc unit. The 6-cylinder Dolomites used the 15.72hp 1991cc ohv engine with twin or triple SU carburettors. Donald Healey engineered the Glorias and Dolomites, whilst Walter Belgrove drew the bodywork most famously the unique waterfall grille that he plagiarised from an Hudson.

Walter Belgrove styled the bodywork and drew inspiration from the Hudson Terraplane for the grille and other features.
