Morris Minor 1000 1956 - 1962
In 1956 the Series III Minor was launched with curved windscreen and bigger rear window and 948cc engine. Semaphore Indicators continued to be fitted until 1961. From 1957 the floorpan of the Minor with 1498cc B-series engine and different body was sold as Riley One-Point-Five and wolseley 1500 (and Australian variants); this car was intended to be the next Morris Minor but was too expensive to sell at Morris Minor prices. The Millionth Morris Minor was produced in February 1961 and 350 special editions painted in lilac and badged 'Minor 1000000' were sold. In 1962 the Minor 1000 (or Series III) was replaced by a 1098cc version.
