Maserati 250F
Juan Manuel Fangio gave the 250F its first race at the 1954 Argentinian Grand Prix where it won. Fangio also drove the 250F at its second GP winning that too. The engine was a 2.5-litre Maserati A6 straight-six developed from the 1953 Formula 2 2-litre unit, and given 3 twin choke Webers. Ex-Ferrari man Gioacchino Colombo was responsible for this engine and developed it further for the Maserati 3500 GT cars until the mid 1960s. The good looking 250F had aluminium panels fitted to a tubular steel frame. 8 GP victories were earned by the 250F before it stopped racing in 1960.
