Lamborghini 350 and 400 GT
Giorgio Prevedi under Franco Scaglione designed the Lamborghini 350 GTV which was exhibited at the 1963 Turin Salon carrying a 3,464cc quad cam V12 engine. The 350 GTV was not suitable for production so Dallara, Stanzani and Bob Wallace had to create a production version with body revised by Carrozzeria Touring, and the engine detuned for touring. THe 350 GT was shown at the 1964 Salon de Geneva and production of the first Lamborghini car then commenced. A 400 GT was created by fitting the larger 3,929cc V12 engine, but after just 23 built the 400 GT 2+2 was launched at the 1966 Salon de Geneva with a reprofiled body Touring. Giorgio Neri and Luciano Bonacini created a one-off 400 GT Monza for an American client, possibly to race at Le Mans but instead it was shown at the 1967 Barcelona Motor Show and then sold to another customer. Lamborgini built 120 350 GT from 1964 to 1966 and 247 400 GT from 1966 to 1968.
