Invicta Black Prince
Launched in 1948, the Black Prince was an attempt to revive the manufacturer Invicta that had declined in the 1930s. Employing the Invicta designer William G Watson, the Black prince set out with a form of CVT automatic transmission married to a Meadows 3-litre dohc 6-cylinder engine of about 120bhp. The bodywork on this car is from Charlesworth Coachbuilders and believed to copy heavily from a Pierce-Arrow. Sixteen Black Prince cars with varying bodywork were manufactured, but in 1946 Invicta came to a halt and were bought out by AFN with a small chance that the brand might be resurrected.
