Healey Tickford
The Healey Tickford evolved out of the Healey Elliott after Donald Healey and Samuel Elliott disagreed over their joint venture. Tickford Coachbuilders took up the Sports saloon body to a new design, which was less basic, more comfortable, more practical but less fast. The new Tickford body, designed by Winston Chater, had glass instead of the perspex of the Elliott, as well as a proper boot. It was said to be the first saloon built by Tickford. Early cars were built on the Healey Type C chassis from 1950, and in 1951 a Type BT chassis was used and the car gained the triangular side grilles, with the final cars built on the F-type chassis.
