Ford Anglia 105E, 123E
In 1959 the radically styled Anglia 105E was launched, the most famous and sadly the last of all the Ford Anglias. The reverse-rake rear window is evident, supposedly given to the car to increase passenger headroom and provide good visibility in all weathers. However, Elwood Engel had given the 1958 Lincoln Continental a reverse-rake window and he was in Birmingham, UK during the design stage of the 105E. In 1962 the Anglia Super (123E) was introduced with a Cortina 1198cc engine replacing the 997cc engine. It was fully equipped and came in duotone colours as standard. Launched in 1961 the Anglia Estate offered 35cu feet of load space with the rear seat folded down. Also in 1961 the Ford Thames 307E Van was launched in either 5cwt or 7cwt versions. The Ford
