Dick Burzi
Riccardo Burzi worked for Lancia but was persuaded over to Austin when his principal met Henry Austin on an ocean liner. His first works saw a combination of 'transatlantic' style married to 'streamlining' with the late 1930s Austin Tens and their siblings. After World War Two he was responsible for the 'egg-shaped' Austin A30, A40, A70, as well as the extraordinary A90 Atlantic. More conventional 3-box Austin Cambridges and Westminsters followed before Austin was persuaded to turn back to Italy and engage Pinin Farina.
