Chevrolet Camaro 1967 - 1970
Introduced in late 1966 for the 1967 model year the Chevrolet Camaro was unashamedly the GM answer to the Ford Mustang. It was designed by John Delorean and shared some components with the Chevy Nova that was to be introduced in the following year. Coupe and convertible bodies were available. Engines offered went from a 250 cu.in. inline Six through several V8 options. Other options included an RS package with hidden headlamps, SS with 350 or 396 cu.in V8 and striped bodywork, and finally the Z/28 which had a small block 302 cu.in engine that was highly tuned. For 1968 the Camaro no longer had quarterlights, suspension changes and side marker lamps. 1969 cars had a reskin, refreshed dashboard and interior and there was a new 307-cu.in. engine for base models. In 1969 the second generation Camaro was introduced for 1970. Pontiac offered the Firebird as an equivalent car.
