MG 1100, MG 1300
An Octagon-badged version of the ADO16 range was launched in September 1962 as the MG 1100, initially as a 2-door and later as a 4-door. There were hopes that this car would conquer the American small car market, but 28,000 sales in 5years was hardly that. In 1967 the MG 1100 got 1275cc power and then quickly became the MG 1300 and the MkII models in 1968, but MG versions were swept away when ADO16 went into MkIII versions in 1971 after 120,000 had been sold.
