TVR Trident
The TVR Trident of 1965 was one of 3 prototypes designed by Trevor Fiore and built by Carrozzeria Fissore of Turin built on a stretched TVR Griffith 200/400 chassis and exhibited at the Geneva Salon in 1965. Power came from a small block Ford 289 V8 (4727cc). American distributor Jack Griffith did not like the car, and in the collapse of TVR the Trident was effectively 'stolen' from the wreckage and produced in limited numbers as the Trident Clipper. Trident also produced a Triumph 2.5-litre variant on a TR6 chassis as the Trident Tycoon, and the same chassis was used for the Ford V6-engined Trident Venturer. Approximately 130 Tridents were produced.

TVR Trident 1965. Trevor Fiore gave the Trident pop-up headlamps, but the spin-off Trident Clipper cars were often given fixed headlamps. The TVR Trident had a Ford V8 engine, but later Clippers had Chrysler V8s.

The Trident was the first wedge-shaped TVR, but its styling was as controversial to its American backer, as the later Tasmin by Winterbottom was to its buyers.
