Sunbeam-Talbot 80 and 90
By 1935 Sunbeam-Talbot-Darracq (STD) were in decline, and William and Reginald Rootes bought Talbot out of STD in 1935, and started to use the chassis and mechanics of Hillman and Humbers as the basis of 'Talbot London' cars, giving them their own Talbot bodies. After World War Two the Rootes brothers rebranded Talbot cars as 'Sunbeam-Talbot' from 1938, but finally reverted to just 'Sunbeam' from 1955. The first Sunbeam-Talbots were the 80 and 90, based on the pre-war Talbot Ten but with a Humber engine for the 90. The 80 was soon dropped, and after the MkII the next version was marketed simply as the 'Sunbeam Mark III"
