Plymouth Q and U
The 'Chrysler-Plymouth' was launched for the 1929 model year as a new brand for Chrysler intended to take on Chevrolet and Ford. The Model Q inherited from the Chrysler 50 and 52 which it replaced and was built on a 109-inch wheelbase. It was given a 2,791cc L-head 4-cylinder engine which would take this first Plymouth up to 60 mph and it was stopped by brakes on all four wheels. In 1929 the Model Q evolved into the Model U which had a larger 2,874cc engine, but it was still on 109-inches
