Oldsmobile Curved Dash 1901
Ransom E. Olds introduced the 'Curved Dash Olds' in 1901. It has been said that other models were being developed but a factory fire left the Curved Dash as the only viable model. Power was given by a 1,560cc single cylinder flat engine mid-mounted, producing about 5hp. The Curved Dash was the first mass production car, built on an assembly line with interchangeable parts. 19,000 were built 1901 to 1907. General Motors bought out Oldsmobile in 1908 and replaced the Curved Dash with redeveloped Buick sold as the Oldsmobile Model 20.
