NSU Prinz I, II, III
NSU resumed car manufacture in 1957 beginning with a project that commenced in 1955. The NSU Prinz that was launched at the 1957 Frankfurt Auto Show. Its engine was an air-cooled twin cylinder 583cc unit that was a larger version of the single cylinder 250cc NSU Max motorcycle engine. NSU launched the car under the slogan "Drive a Prince and you are a King". A few improvements were made to the Prinz II, and then the Prinz III engine was tuned to give 23bhp.
