Ford Thames Trader (600E)
The Thames Trader (600E) was a semi-forward control truck replacing the ET6 and the 7V models. It was designed by Ford of Britain unlike the outgoing models. The Thames Trader was introduced in 1957 and a Mk2 version in 1962 with production ending in 1965 when the new Ford D-series took over. There was, however, a bonneted Ford Thames Trader NC which utilised the cab from the German Ford Koln truck. The Thames Trader was produced in versions from 2 to 7 tons with a 4-cylinder petrol engine and a 4-cylinder diesel engine carried over from the 500E truck; A '6D' 6-cylinder diesel was also offered.
