Ford Zodiac MkIII (213E)
In 1962 Ford launched the MkIII Z-car range topped by 6-light Ford Zodiac. Underneath the mechanics and chassis of the Zephyr/Zodiac MkII continued now wrapped in bodywork by Roy Brown some of which was based on a styling exercise by Frua. The existing Zephyr was given the same new body, but kept the inline six engine, and the Zodiac MkIII was given a six-light version of the new body. Abbott provided Estates, as before, but no Convertibles were officially made. Production continued until 1966 when the new V-engined MkIV models replaced the MkIII.

Ford Zodiac MkIII 1963. The Zodiac MkIII inherited the same 2553cc 6-cylinder engine from the Zodiac MkII but this was now tuned to give 103bhp.

Ford Zodiac MkIII 1963. The Zodiac was moved up-market from the Zephyr with a different body, but in fact the 6-light design was the same size and shared many of the Zephyr panels. Under the bonnet the same 2553cc inline 6-cylinder engine was tuned for more power than the Zephyr 6.

Ford Zodiac MkIII (213E). Body was by Canadian Roy Brown (Edsel and the Cortina), but underneath the mechanics were based on the 206E (MkII). The rear of the car was supposedly inspired by a Frua design.
