Ferrari 330 GT 2+2
Tom Tjaarda designed the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 for Carrozzeria Pininfarina after moving from Ghia in 1961. Launched in 1964 the 330 GT 2+2 replaced the temporary Ferrari 330 GT America which was very much an upgraded 250 GT/E with the new 3967cc Colombo V12 engine. The name '330' was chosen for the new 4-litre Ferraris because each cylinder of the V12 engine was 330cc. The new Tjaarda body came in 1964 with the name '330 GT 2+2' and controversial quad headlamps. In 1965 an 'Inter' model of the 330 GT 2+2 was introduced with different pedals, 5-speed transmission and 7inch wheels. Later in 1965 the Series II was introduced with different front lighting and mechanical upgrades. Production ended in 1967. Running concurrently fromn 1966 was the 330GTC/GTS cars which used a shorter chassis derived from the Ferrari 275 and a different body.
