Designer: Filippo Sapino
Carrozzeria Ghia offered Filippo Sapino a job and his first design was a Renault R8 Coupe in 1963 which was a one-off. Alejandro De Tomaso commissioned Ghia to produce a Shelby 427 Cobra Roadster and Sapino designed that one-off in 1965. From 1967 to 1969 Sapino worked for Pininfarina and was responsible for a special Ferrari 512S, one of the lowest cars ever made. In 1969 Ford of Europe set up a design studio and recruited Sapino. Ford then purchased Ghia in 1971 so Sapino works back under the Ghia badge and becomes Director of Ghia in 1973. Ford worked with A.C. Cars in 1981 to redesign the AC ME3000 which was done by Sapino but AC reverted to their own design. Ford's response to the Group B Rally Cars was the Ford RS 200 which was designed by Sapino in 1984.

Ford RS200 front
Ford RS200. Engineered by Tony Southgate and John Wheeler, with a body designed by Filippo Sapino. The fibreglass body was given to Reliant to build. A 1.8-litre Cosworth 16-valve engine built by Brian Hart was given to the RS200. 200 cars were made for homologation in Group B Rallying, but the formula was cancelled after some tragic accidents and most were converted to road cars or for Rallycross.

Ferrari 365 GTC4. Designed by Filippo Sapino, the GTC 4 was built on the Ferrari Daytona chassis. The shape was controversial, and was nicknamed 'Il Gobbone' (The hunchback, or banana) on account of the rising waistline, but Pininfarina's new wind tunnel was used to proof it.
