Barker Coachwork on Daimlers
Barkers began building Coaches in 1710 and supplied the British Royal family with many coaches. After almost 200 years they started to build bodies for cars, famously getting the approval of CS Rolls in 1905. Barker bodies were fitted to a number of other makes as well as Rolls-Royce. In 1938 Barker went into liquidation and was taken over by Hoopers who themselves got taken over by BSA and so ended up within the same company as Daimler cars. During the 1940s and 1950s Barker coachwork were the main body for Daimlers

Daimler DB18 Barker Special Sports. For the 'Special Sports' Daimler gave the 2522cc 6-cylinder engine twin carbs raising the output to 85bhp.

Daimler DB18 4-seat convertible (Barker) 1947. The DB18 was launched in 1939 and re-started after WW2 until 1950. Powered by a 2522cc straight-six engine developed from the Daimler Light Fifteen
