Chapron Opera SM
Henri Chapron followed his coachbuilt specials on the DS with new models for the SM platform. Citroen had intended that the SM model would include a 4-door berline, but its parlous finances meant that it could not fund the development. Henri Chapron produced a 4-door Opera saloon which did go into limited production. Coachbuilders Heuliez also produced several concepts for the Sm, but none went into production. Chapron also produced a few Mylord decapotable SM cars. Chapron was also commissioned by French President Georges Pompidou to build a 4-door drophead limousine for state occassions, and two were built at 5.6metres in length
