Buick 1941-49 (Century, Limited, Roadmaster, Special)

Buicks were extensively restyled for 1939 with a full width front, and this was taken further in 1941 with new bodies that were shared with other GM brands. The 1939 Special had a 120-inch Wheelbase GM B-body, and the 1940 Super was on a 121-inch GM C-body shared with larger Oldsmobile and Cadillac. There were restyles in 1942 and that version restarted production in 1946, and was updated until a new car was brought out in 1949. The C-body Buicks were on a longer 124-inch wheelbase from 1942, and the Super and Roadmaster rolled on until the new body in 1949.

Buick Special 1941 Sedanette - Buick had started towards lower grilles with the 1939 'waterfall' grille and the new 1941 bodies were given an integrate front with lower grilles.

Buick Special 1941 Sedanette. Powered by a 4,066cc inline 8-cylinder which was new for 1937. The 1941 GM B-body included integrated headlamps for Buick, although other GM brands had picked these up in earlier years.

Buick Special 1941 Coupe. Built on a GM B-body shared with other GM brands, the Special was powered by a 4.1-litre inline 8-cylinder engine.

Buick Special 1941 Coupe. This 2-door Coupe body was also offered as a Business Coupe without a rear seat so that it could be used for business articles

Buick Special 1941 Sedanette. The 2-door Torpedo body was new for the 1941 GM B-body, and the Buick Special couple this with a 4.1-litre straight eight engine.
