Bristol 406 Zagato
Bristol built on the 404/405 recipe when it launched the 406 in 1958. 174 Bristol 406 cars were sold, a small number were given special bodies. Carrozzeria Zagato were given the commission to create 6 bodies on the 114-inch Bristol 406 chassis, and also a seventh car built on the 102-inch chassis. The Bristol 406 Zagato was exhibited at the 1959 Earls Court Motor Show and sales handled by Anthony Crook Motors rather than Bristol. The lighter Zagato body benefitted the Bristol which was given the uprated 2,216cc version of the inline six engine
