Austin Ant (ADO 19)
A prototype 4wd vehicle based on an A-series 1275cc engine, with optional FWD only when this was adequate. The Ant was designed to be light and therefore of use to airborne forces. The ADO 19 was designed by Alec Issigonis and developed from the Mini Moke. The Ant used either 1098cc or 1275cc A-series engines in FWD or 4WD mode. About 30 Ants were built before the ptoject was cancelled.
