VW Transporter 1967-1979
The VW Transporter became the 'T2' or second generation model from 1967 with a new bodyshell and a single piece windscreen sometimes giving it the name 'Bay Window'. Engine size was increased to 1.6litre and better rear suspension was given. From 1971 the 'T2b' featured changed rear intakes, front indicators moved up to beneath the windshield, and a new 1.6litre engine. From 1972 a larger 2-litre engine was available and consequently larger intakes and engine compartment. In 1980 the 'T3' Transporter was announced with a new body and was the final rear-engined VW to be produced.
