Voisin Type C14
Nicknamed the 'Voisin Chartre', and sold in 1931 and 1932, this was the final version of the Type C14 which was introduced in 1927. Power was given by a 2326cc sleeve valve 66bhp engine, and an unsual gearbox had both high and low ratios for each of the three forward gears. The aluminium-bodied Type C14 was awash with innovative features and the Voisin was an expensive car at the time of the Great Depression. Nevertheless 1795 Type C14 cars were sold from 1928 to 1932. Although many coachbuilt bodies were supplied on Voisin Type C14 chassis, Voisin also designed their own bodies using aircraft techniques; the 'Chartre' model was designed by Andre Lefèbvre.
