TVR Taimar
In 1972 TVR replaced the Vixen and Tuscan models with the new M-series, and were created under the ownership of Martin Lilley. TVR showed the TVR Taimar at Earls Court in 1976, and this was essentially a TVR 3000M with an opening hatch, and its practicality gave TVR a fast seller. The name 'Taimar' was apparently invented as being similar to 'Tayma' the name of a girl in Martin Lilley's friends. 395 Taimars were built in 3 years. In 1978 TVR offered its first convertible, the TVR 3000S, and although very much an M-series underneath most body panels were altered for the S-type.
