Tatra T613 Tatra abandoned its streamlined ideology for the T613, consulting Carrozzeria Vignale for its design with a project that began back in 1968. A 3.5-litre V8 engine was placed between the rear wheels, giving 4 cylinders ahead of the axle and 4 behind. The engine was air-cooled and had quad camshafts and developed 165 bhp. Production started in 1973, and in 1980 the T613-2 with improved interior took over. In 1986 an attempt was made to modernise the T613, and the T613-3 was dechromed and given plastic bumpers, revised lighting and a new 'grille' panel at the front. The T613-4 was given fuel injection, boosting power up to 220bhp, and a T613-4 model was launched in 1993. In 1996 the Tatra T700 replaced the T613. Special versions of the T613 were produced for the Police, dor state dignitaries and as Ambulances. |
