Tatra T613
Tatra abandoned its streamlined ideology for the T613, consulting Carrozzeria Vignale for its design with a project that began back in 1968. A 3.5-litre V8 engine was placed between the rear wheels, giving 4 cylinders ahead of the axle and 4 behind. The engine was air-cooled and had quad camshafts and developed 165 bhp. Production started in 1973, and in 1980 the T613-2 with improved interior took over. In 1986 an attempt was made to modernise the T613, and the T613-3 was dechromed and given plastic bumpers, revised lighting and a new 'grille' panel at the front. The T613-4 was given fuel injection, boosting power up to 220bhp, and a T613-4 model was launched in 1993. In 1996 the Tatra T700 replaced the T613. Special versions of the T613 were produced for the Police, dor state dignitaries and as Ambulances.

Tatra T613-3. Unlike previous aerodynamic Tatras, the T613 was designed to be less quirky and more mainstream, so Tatra went out to Carrozzeria Vignale for the body design. The V8 engine is mounted between the rear wheels.
