Imperial 1974-75
The fifth generation of Imperial was launched in 1974 as not much more than a blinged up Chrysler NewYorker. For the first time since 1956 Imperial shared its body with less Chryslers, and the marque was almost ended in 1973. Elwood Engel supported some designs by Chet Limbaugh and grafted his front end and trunk lid onto a NewYorker bodyshell to create the last Imperial until the badge was dusted off again in 1981.
