Delahaye Type 165
The Delahaye 165 was powered by a 4496cc V12 engine, a production version of the Type 145 V12 race car. The engine was detuned from that of the 145 race car. Just 5 of the Type 165 were built, 2 had this Figoni et Falaschi cabriolet coachwork. One of the cabriolets was sent by the French government to the 1939 New York Show where it got stranded by the Second World War, and was sold postwar and given a Cadillac V8 engine. Eventually the car was resold and reunited with a Delahaye V12 engine as the vehicle shown here.
