Buick Roadmaster 1949 - 1953
Harley Earl designed a new GM C-body which was used for the 1949 Buick Roadmaster (and Cadillac, and Oldsmobile 98). The Roadmaster was built on 126-inches, and slightly longer from 1950, except for the Riviera sedans which were 130.3-inches until shortened to 125.5-inches in 1953. Power came from a Fireball 5,247cc straight eight engine until 1953 when the new 'Nailhead' V8 became available and allowed the Roadmaster to be shortened.
