Austin A70 Hereford. Still using the 2199cc 4cylinder engine previously fitted to the Austin Sixteen was more staid than its 'streamlined' body suggested.
Austin A70 Hampshire. Similar styling to the smaller A40 Devon, The Hampshire had a 2199cc engine
Austin A70 Hampshire. Launched in 1948, the Hampshire body was similar to the smaller A40 Devon, and both were mounted onto a separate chassis. Dick Burzi styled both Devon and Hampshire.
Austin A70 Hereford. Introduced in 1950 to replace the A70 Hampshire, the Hereford was not much more than a re-style, and even shared the doors with the smaller A40 Somerset. A 4cylinder 2199cc engine powered the Hereford at a time when rivals usually had 6cylinder engines.
Austin A70 Hereford. The Hereford body was mounted on a separate chassis at a time when rivals had gone for monocoque construction. Four door saloon was the common body, but there were estate, utility and even convertible versions too.
